    FTA is looking to recruit a Membership Relations Manager to cover the Warwickshire/ Northamptonshire/ Buckinghamshire/ Oxfordshire territory.

    This role will be working with all departments within the FTA team to serve our membership across a defined geographical area, building relationships which place members at the heart of our business.

    The Membership Relations Manager (MRM) role is accountable for:

    • The primary ‘face to face’ point of contact for a defined number of FTA members
    • Identifying and understanding members problems to provide effective solutions
    • Minimising the number of influenceable membership resignations
    • Winning, renewing, retaining and growing product contracts
    • Minimising the number of debtor days
    • Maximising incremental sales revenue
    • Increasing product sales penetration
    • Increasing product profitability
    • Recruitment of new members
    • Ensuring that the FTA policy message is understood and supported by our members

     Responsibilities:

    • Member facing contact with all ‘core’ FTA members a minimum of once annually
    • Member facing contact with all new FTA members within four weeks following recruitment
    • Active recruitment of new members
    • Building cross functional relationships and networks within individual FTA member companies
    • Membership retention activity in line with retention targets and objectives
    • Working with the Contract Management team to deliver contract renewals in line with contract renewal objectives
    • Maintain and grow product contracts in line with contract and revenue targets
    • Management of membership and product debt in line with specific debtor day and debt value targets
    • Delivery of incremental sales revenue for existing FTA products and services
    • Delivery of sales revenue targets for new FTA products and services
    • Delivering increases in product penetration in line with specific penetration objectives
    • Constructing and monitoring detailed quarterly contact plans for performance against targets and KPI’s
    • Presenting performance against target and action plans to other FTA colleagues as appropriate
    • Maintaining accurate volume and value sales pipelines for key FTA products and services
    • Completing visit reports and maintaining information on individual FTA members on relevant CRM systems
    • Deliver the objectives of FTA marketing activity and marketing plans
    • Identifying and communicating internally new product development opportunities
    • Attending exhibitions, events and seminars in connection with product sales, recruitment and networking.
    • Promote the FTA as the UK’s leading trade association in the logistics sector
    • Sharing learning and best practice with other MRM’s, the wider FTA sales team and internal colleagues
    • Disseminating information on FTA members to key FTA colleagues
    • Disseminate information on the logistics market place to key FTA colleagues
    • Uphold the reputation of the FTA in line with the PACE values
    • Commitment to personal development objectives

    Essential Skills & Requirements:

    • Enthusiastic and confident with a target focussed, results oriented business style
    • Proactive, positive with excellent customer service
    • Knowledge and experience of the transport and logistics industry
    • Demonstrable sales knowledge preferably including business to business sectors
    • Exceptional influencing and persuasion skills at all organisational levels
    • Effective negotiation skills and the ability to use the entire ‘product mix’ to deliver mutually beneficial solutions
    • Strong presentation skills and an ability to construct effective sales presentations
    • Developed and confident communication style
    • The ability to communicate at all levels with customers and internal colleagues.
    • The ability to use different methods of communication (letters, reports, e-mail, telephone, presentations)
    • Professional Competence desirable (CPC)
